Dippy the Dinosaur 3D Printing

Dippy, the Natural History Museum’s iconic Diplodocus dinosaur skeleton is coming to Glasgow!

As part of a road trip across the UK, Dippy is venturing out of London for the first time since 1905. He will visit Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum from 22 January—6 May 2019.

Pupils should design and model their own dinosaur that should be made using your 3D Printer. Schools that complete this challenge will be invited to a celebration event at Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum on 30th April 2019. Pupils will get to meet Dippy, get photographed with their model and take part in some of the Museum activities

Jacobs Engineering Challenges 2017

Glasgow City Council and Jacobs Engineering are joining forces to support “STEM the Flow”, three STEM challenges (Science, Technology Engineering and Maths) that will suggest engineering solutions to help tackle flooding in Glasgow and the surrounding areas.

Glasgow City Council and Jacobs Engineering are joining forces to support “STEM the Flow”, three STEM challenges (Science, Technology Engineering and Maths) that will suggest engineering solutions to help tackle climate issues in Glasgow. These include flood prevention schemes, ways to measure air quality or creating new green spaces within the city.

Jacobs Engineering Challenges 2019

STEM Glasgow, Jacobs Engineering and KSB are joining forces to support “Upstream Battle”, two STEM challenges (Science, Technology Engineering and Maths) that will suggest engineering solutions to help tackle plastic pollution issues in Glasgow’s River Clyde. Plastic pollution has caused major problems for the city and its residents and we need to continually look at new ways to not just reduce our plastic use but clean our rivers of existing rubbish. These could be ways of colleting plastic that is already in the Clyde or preventing plastic from getting into the Clyde in the first place.
