Each school can bring up to 3 teams with a maximum of 5 pupils in each team. If the teams are from mixed year groups we ask they are mixed within a level. If P1’s are included in a mixed team they can join 1st level

Complete the form in order to attend.

Return to stem@glasgow.gov.uk by Friday 22nd March.

 

3D Printer Competition

This term all early years, primary and secondary establishments across Glasgow are being invited to de-sign and 3D model a Christmas bauble for the chance to win a Robox Dual 3D Printer!

Establishments* wishing to enter should fill out the submission form and send to: stem@glasgow.gov.uk by Monday 10th December 2018.

 *One entry per Glasgow CC establishment.

 

Autumn Tinker Cards

Dippy the Dinosaur 3D Printing

Dippy, the Natural History Museum’s iconic Diplodocus dinosaur skeleton is coming to Glasgow!

As part of a road trip across the UK, Dippy is venturing out of London for the first time since 1905. He will visit Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum from 22 January—6 May 2019.

Pupils should design and model their own dinosaur that should be made using your 3D Printer. Schools that complete this challenge will be invited to a celebration event at Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum on 30th April 2019. Pupils will get to meet Dippy, get photographed with their model and take part in some of the Museum activities

The challenge is to design a new flood prevention system that will be built either in the East End or upstream in the catchments that can prevent flooding from this small watercourse.

STEM Glasgow Science Grant

STEM Glasgow are offering Glasgow City Council education establishments* the opportunity to apply for a science grant of £150. The purpose of the grant is to support science projects in all establishments.  Complete the application form and send to stem@glasgow.gov.uk no later than Friday 7th December 2018. Each establishment will be notified of the outcome of their application before the Christmas break. *Please note that establishments with Primary STEM Leaders are not eligible for this grant.
